Tuesday 20th May – TAMWORTH

Race 1 - 12:30PM TAMWORTH CITY TOYOTA CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE (2100M)

9. LADY LILIBET ($21 on TAB) won a trial at Scone before resuming with a midfield effort at Scone behind Spenzalot. She followed that up with a last start fifth at Quirindi when finishing fifth behind Jason Darren and looks suited by the step up in distance here third-up. 3. Deemee ($2.20 favourite) was a Dubbo winner three starts ago and has since finished second in two runs at Scone and Dubbo, the latest behind Yak. He looks to be a leading contender again based on those efforts. 4. Omikami ($12) made solid ground from back in the field to finish midfield at Wellington when last produced and should be hitting the line well again. 11. Pathelia ($16) was placed in a couple of runs in succession before a midfield Quirindi effort at her last start. She is not the worst here.

Race 2 - 1:05PM FUNCTIONS @ THE TJC MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200M)

8. ZELESTIAL ($2.90 fav) is an imported mate that has two runs in the UK before being brought to NSW to her new trainer. She’s had two trials leading into this and has performed well in each of them, winning both at Scone and this track. Expect her to be primed for a bold showing. 12. Kermalicious ($3.90) is resuming from a spell and has performed well in two recent trials. She was placed at Armidale two starts ago. 7. Grandini ($3.90) is first-up from a spell and has shown her share of potential with four placings from nine starts. 6. Cooma Hut ($11) has finished fourth in his latest two runs at Quirindi and could get into the placings.

Race 3 - 1:40PM CONCRETE INDUSTRY SUPPLIES CTRY BOOSTED MDN (1000M)

5. MAXANDUS ($1.80 fav) has only had two starts but has shown talent with a fifth on debut at this track before a second at his only other start, also here. He looks to have plenty of upside and has Aaron Bullock in the saddle from a good gate. 4. Down The Kooka ($7) had three starts late last year earlier this year and followed a couple of fifths with a second at Dubbo before being spelled. He’s had a trial in preparation for this when not beaten far and warrants respect. 3. Beaumista ($7) resumes here and ran well in a trial at this track behind Zelestial. 2. Bawnaglen ($12) debuted last October with a sixth at Scone and resumes here. He looks to be an improver.

Race 4 - 2:15PM MCDONALDS TAMWORTH MAIDEN PLATE (1600M)

4. PIERONIMO ($2.15 fav) has been racing well with two placings to his name from two races since resuming from a spell at Scone and Newcastle. He’s drawn well enough here and looks overdue to break through with a win. 6. Southerly Buster ($4.80) was placed in his first two starts at Newcastle before a last start seventh at the same track. He has shown enough to be rated a hope here. 3. Outspeed ($6) resumes here on the back of two recent trials and while he’s yet to figure in the placings he could show up fresh in this. 10. Closetothinkitover ($12) resumed from a spell with a third at Quirindi. She’s a nine-year-old that’s only had two starts and can get into the money again here based on that resuming effort.

Race 5 - 2:55PM BENSON EXCAVATION CTRY BOOSTED BM58 H (1200M)

4. HOLLYWOOD GOLD ($5) was a winner at Quirindi before being spelled and then resumed with a third at the same track last time out. He’s drawn the rails here and should be prominent. 6. News Bound ($6) has shown talent in her career and while she disappointed at Muswellbrook last time out, she can bounce back here despite the wide alley. 3. Climate Control ($4.40 fav) is also drawn wide but has the ability to make an impact if anywhere near his best. 1. Burraneer Buoy ($9) has won two from two at this track over this distance. He resumed with an eighth at Muswellbrook and strips fitter for this.

Race 6 - 3:35PM WESTS ENTERTAINMENT GROUP BM58 HANDICAP (1400M)

12. TULIPWOOD ($2.70 fav) is a talented type that has a win and three placings from just the five starts and comes into this after a second at Orange and a third at Muswellbrook. She’s drawn well enough in this to get a good run and should take plenty of beating. 10. Smashing Dancer ($14) wasn’t too far away last time out and should get a good run from the inside gate. 6. Not In Doubt ($2.90) was placed at Quirindi when last produced and has won a recent trial at Gunnedah ticking over into this. 8. Major Makeover ($6.50) raced on the speed to score at this track at good odds last time out and is worth including among the main chances again.

Race 7 - 4:10PM 2TM SPORTS SHOW BENCHMARK 66 HANDICAP (1000M)

6. ZAMPANO ($1.85 fav) ran a good race when resuming with a third at Muswellbrook and followed that up with a solid effort in Highway grade at Randwick when finishing fourth last time out. He’s drawn the rails here with Bullock to ride and looks the one to beat. 9. Move She Can ($8) did the job well to score at Scone at her only run last campaign and then resumed with a solid third at Muswellbrook when beaten less than a length. She should run well in this. 10. Not Written Off ($4.20) is resuming from a spell after two trials and has solid form for a race like this. 5. Takanakuy ($13) hit the line well for a last start second at this track and is worth thought.
