Punter's Intelligence Wrap - Golden Rose Day

Exciting Godolphin colt Broadsiding was backed as if unbeatable in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and his effort to win was all class.

The three-year-old became the first horse to win the feature when resuming, and he ran solid overall time relative to the day.

Punter's intelligence recorded he ran 1:22.69 for the 1400m, approximately 2.5 lengths quicker than the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) and 0.5 lengths faster than the Benchmark 88 over 1400m.

Broadsiding's win was full of merit after chasing from a long way out and sustaining a long sprint. He ran the race's fastest final 600m in 33.71, 2.5 lengths quicker than the race's next best.

Even after exerting all his energy between the 600m-200m, he kept wanting to find the line and ran 11.40 for his final furlong. He can only improve off this, and more ground is ideal.

Jockey Ben Melham gave Traffic Warden the perfect tactical ride from an awkward gate, and he went down bravely. He ran 34.13 for his final 600m, and a drop back in distance seems likely.

Mayfair kept trying to the line, and Storm Boy was honest in defeat after being ridden up early to lead at a good-even speed.

Linebacker ran his race before the gates opened, but when getting his mind on the job, he ran the race fastest final 200m in 11.32.

Makarena has returned in fantastic order this prep after a brave first-up run, and she backed it up on Saturday in the Group 2 Golden Pendant and relished the rise in trip.

The mare was suited sitting outside the leader at a slow pace, but she built through her gears and kept finding under pressure to clock the race's second fastest final 200m in 11.41.

Her sectional profile suggests another rise in distance will be to her benefit.

Amelia's Jewel should lose no irers and wasn't entirely suited to the sit/sprint race shape after staying at the 1400m.

To her credit, she wanted to keep finding the line and ran the race's quickest final 200m in 11.41, and she is now ready to peak third-up.

Lekvarte had the pace against, and she ran the race fastest 800m-200m split in 33.71 before peaking on her run.

Amor Victorious appreciated leading at a genuine speed with no weight on his back, and he was too slick for his rivals in the Group 2 Shannon Stakes (1500m).

He ran his first 900m in 54.22, approximately 5 lengths quicker than the TAB Highway (1500m) for that section and 12.5 lengths faster for his overall time.

Osipenko recorded the races fastest 400m-200m in 11.21 and forgive New Energy who was wide out on a limb throughout.

Celestial Legend ran the race quickest 600m-200m in 22.42, and everything points towards him improving third-up.

Perspiration was slow out, but her turn of foot and closing speed was too strong for her rivals in the Listed Heritage Stakes (1100m).

She ripped the meeting's quickest final 600m in 33.01, and he still has scope to step off this effort.

Pharari was a complete forgive in the final event over 1100m after missing the start, was checked/blocked at key stages but still savaged the line. She ran 11.12 for her final 200m and can bounce back.
