Jockey Quotes - Furious Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 Darley Furious Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick.

Zac Lloyd (Tiz Invincible): “I’m very lucky to pick up this ride, she’s obviously a very very good filly and once again won very well. She’s still not the full package, she’s doing a bit wrong early on, but she’s strong and once she gets out she lets down very nicely.

“She jumped better today but without asking her to get a spot, I knew she could get fired up but once I got the run I just focused on balancing her up and I had faith in the horse. I’ve galloped her before so I knew how good she was and a big thank you to Ciaron (Maher) and Dave (Eustace) for the ride. It’s only a pick-up ride, but I’ll take what I can get.”

Jason Collett (Kimochi): “She was powerful late. The 1400/1600m will suit her.”

Brett Prebble (Mumbai Muse): “She is still learning her trade. A bit new in greenness and timid around horses. She is competing against the best we’ve got and is doing a good job.”

Dylan Gibbons (Lazzago): “She probably didn’t hit the line as well as you like but she might be a filly who wanted to travel a bit further into a race. As she steps up she might improve again.”

Adam Hyeronimus (Autumn Ballet): “She just blew the start and it was race over for her.”

Josh Parr (Platinum Jubilee): “Nice performance. I’d say better ridden with a sit. Autumn Ballet missed it and it was mine to take up. She will appreciate 1400m.”

Andrew Adkins (Fire Lane): “Was actually really rapt with her run. She did it tough outside the leaders jumping too well. Showed a good sight but struggled the last 100m.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Cigar Flick): “We landed a bit closer than what we thought. Had a nice run and gave a nice kick when we straightened after cuddling around the corner. Just found wanting late. Maybe back in distance and better with a bit of cover.”

Sam Clipperton (Amazonian Lass): “Was just dictated to with the slow pace after the slow jump. Another good run from a horse looking for further.”

Chad Schofield (Hell Queen): “She is a nice filly. She is still learning but I think at the moment she might want it a bit weaker.”

Rachel King (Summer Loving): “Super run. She put herself into a good spot today. Finished off really strongly and can’t wait for her to step up in distance.”

Tyler Schiller (Private Legacy): “Good through the line again. Just looking for a bit further.”
