Jockey Quotes - Tramway Stakes

Find out what the jockeys made of their mounts after the Group 2 $300,000 AMD Medical Tramway Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick.

Zac Lloyd (Pericles): “That was an enormous win because he’s done that with a lot of ease, very classy. I can’t thank the team enough for the opportunities, I’m just happy enough to get the job done. It’s very special.

“He just got to the lead, he can over race sometimes and he just really relaxed and I got into a lovely rhythm and I knew he was a superior seven furlong horse, he runs it out very easily. He held them with ease.”

Brett Prebble (Skyman): “Awesome. It was short of his best distance probably but he was really courageous.”

Tyler Schiller (Hope In Your Heart): “Very happy. She has probably had a little chequered path up the straight but hit the line strongly.”

Dylan Gibbons (Communist): “We followed the right horses. Thought he was a bit disappointing late.”

Chad Schofield (My Oberon): “I thought it was a terrific run. Annabel has really got him flying.”

Jason Collett (Fireburn): “She has gone well. A bit flat footed when they sprinted but she kept working to the line and through it.”

Tom Sherry (Diamil): “First up wasn’t too bad. The lack of pace up front didn’t help his cause but he will be fine when we stretch him out in trip.”

Sam Clipperton (Going Global): “Really nice run. She managed to keep the lid on her temperament pre-race and was a little bit flat-footed at the top of the straight. Will improve second up over a mile.”

Andrew Adkins (Zeyrek): “Very good run to kick off his campaign. He is only going to improve up in distance.”

Josh Parr (New Mandate): No comment

Kathy O’Hara (Sky Lab): “Gave me a nice feel. It was a slowly run affair so it was difficult to make ground from where I was but he feels like he is in great order.”

Jay Ford (Democracy Manifest): “He ran well. First up at stakes level and it is becoming difficult to make ground but I thought he went well.”

Kerrin McEvoy (Olentia): “Good run obviously up in class. We weren’t able to get any cover just in behind the speed. She was a credible run all the way to the line.”

Rachel King (Palmetto): “Lovely first up run. On the back of the winner the whole way. Will take lovely improvement from that.”
